Based on the concept to create "cheap, high quality, long lasting and easy-to-assemble" furniture.The construction makes use of the reinforcing effect through the interlocking segments, which creates the structure and ultimately the visual character of the design. The top plate can be fixed with three screws from the bottom with a conical fitted plywood piece. All four individual table segments can be manufactured in joint operations. For storage and shipment the tables can be disassembled, stacked and packed in a small carton board box. Winner of the Domus Autoprogettazione 2.0 design competition, Milan design week 2012. The frame is made from only one sheet of stainless steel; laser cut and bent several times, and trans-formed eventually into a robust coffee table construction. Each detail has its structural reason and defines the visual character of the table. This project explores the possibilities of the laser cutting manufacturing tech-nology and the potential of steel. The table comes either in a brushed stainless steel finish or in different powder coating colors, combined with a solid walnut wooden, acryl glass or lacquered tabletop. The "Clamp" principle shapes the chair consistently and determines its character, by interlocking the legs, corpus, seat and backrest structurally as well as visually and forms eventually a seamless unity of all elements. Made from a single piece of molded plywood, the upholstered backrest embraces the body of the user like a shell. Each of the wooden parts was carefully selected in terms of coloring and grain. The structural details such as the wooden joints emphasize the aesthetical appearance and precision of the chair.
